Kids
Before I get too deep into this new blog, and since this deals with my hitherto unknown personal life, I thought maybe I should introduce the cast and crew to you all. Oh and by the way they are not listed in any special order.
As I said previously, I seem to have two of everything in my life; two kids, two dogs, two jobs and two women in my life. Let’s start with my two kids - and to protect them I’m calling them E and M.
This is “E”, our oldest daughter. I may sometimes call her the “Brunette” in my writings. She is 15 and in Grade 10. and loves contemporary music like her old man, notably the Killers and Jack Johnson - although to be honest, she introduced me to Jack Johnson.
E is currently experiencing an odd medical condition with her right arm. She has intermittent pain from her shoulder to her elbow and also at different times from the elbow to the wrist. We have been to 5 specialists, had ultrasounds, X-Rays, an MRI and a nerve conduction test. With no answers from anyone. I will write a detailed post about E’s medical misadventures in a future post.
E is extremely responsible, babysits for neighbours and does pet sitting. For the past two summers she has worked as a full time baby sitter for a local family. I think that E is unique in that she has had the same set of girlfriends (with one notable addition) since Senior Kindergarten. Of course it helped they were all in French Immersion together and have stuck through it all together.
“M” is our baby, even though she is 12. I may refer to M throughout my writings as “The Blonde Child”.
M is a free spirit and loves dance. M has taken ballet, jazz and hip-hop dance lessons and continues to do so throughout the year. Mondays and Wednesdays are my “Dad Taxi” nights when I head out and pick up M and her friends from dance class. “M” is quickly following in her big sisters footsteps in that she is now taking over the family pet sitting business. However M must realize that emptying out kitty litter is not necessarily Dad’s responsibility all the time!
I will be talking about M’s medical misadventures in a future post as well. M loves and I mean LOVES animals. She is the only person Grace will sleep with and M has always had a special charm with our animals. Until her medical misadventures in 08 we both thought that M was destined to go onto a career as a vet or vet tech. Now she wants to be a pediatric nurse at Sick Kids. No matter where she goes, my Tiny Dancer will do well.
